The LowDown on the XBox 360 Three Red Lights Error

Saturday, February 21, 2009

The XBOX 360 Ring Of Death or Three Red Lights error is now one of the best documented problems with any console ever made. Despite Microsoft denying its existence in the early days, the number of reported cases of this fault has even made the manufacturers themselves admit that there is a problem.

The XBox 360 three red lights error is so called, because when the console suffers from a hardware failure, then three of the LED's on the front panel start to flash on and off, oh, and of course your console stops working. For those of you who are lucky enough to have your XBox 360 still under warranty, then you can, of course, just call Microsoft and they will repair or replace it for you. However, the XBox 360 three red lights error normally occurs on older models, before the problem was addressed at the manufacturing stage, and therefore many of the consoles that suffer from this error are now out of warranty.

So, what do you do with your expensive doorstop. Well, you can send it to a number of repair shops who will charge you anything up to $140.00 to fix the XBox 360 three red lights error, or you can try and fix it yourself. You may be surprised to learn that, in most cases, the XBox 360 three red lights error, can be fixed using few simple household tools, and about an hour of your time. There are a few steps involved, and one special 'trick' employed that is vital to the success of the XBox 360 three red lights error fix, but most people should manage it with great success.

There are also some downright silly, and potentially dangerous fixes for the XBox 360 three red lights error to be found on various websites. Most of these will, at best be a temporary fix, and one in particular could be downright dangerous. When I tell you that the XBox 360 three red lights error is normally caused by the console overheating, and thaqt this particular fix involves wrapping your aloready hot console in a thich towel, then you should be able to see that this is a recipe for a potentially fiery disaster.

This problem has already costs Microsoft over $1 BILLION to fix, but it shouldnt cost you any more than about $45 if you get a good guide and some basic equipment.

If you want to know the best XBox 360 three red lights fix, then head on over to http://www.xbox360ringofdeath.info - where have reviewed and compared some of the best guides on the market today. Your XBox 360 will be up and running in no time at all, or you wont pay a penny.

Ethical Shopping

Ethical shopping is a subject much discussed at present but what does it actually mean to consumers? Wikipedia defines it as buying things which have caused no harm or exploitation to humans, animals or the natural environment. Our newspapers are full of tales of factory farming, climate change, sweatshops and child labour and it has been suggested that any purchase involves moral choices. Let's be realistic, buying is a necessary part of modern life the nitty gritty is deciding whether we will exercise our conscience over what we buy or if we are not too bothered as long as we have whatever object it is that we desire. After all a number of mainstream retailers have been implicated in scandals about child labour and sweatshop working but we continue to buy from them. In an ideal world of course we wouldn't even be talking about ethical shopping because it would be the norm.

Until fairly recently ethical shopping was a niche market but it is becoming more mainstream as people become more aware of environmental and ethical issues. Numbers of people buying organic or Fairtrade continues to rise as it becomes more accessible and receives a higher level of support from retailers but it is still a small part of the overall market.

There is a huge buzz of interest about sustainability or development which meets present needs but does not compromise future generations. George Monbiot in an article for The Telegraph says "There is an inherent conflict between the aspirational lifestyle journalism that makes readers feel better about themselves and sells country kitchens, and the central demand of environmentalism - that we should consume less". So being an ethical shopper is not about continuing to take several holidays a year by air and buying things that are surplus to requirements. Perhaps the root of the problem is our rampant consumer culture which is reinforced by the media continually. Take a look at the Sunday glossies they are selling the lifestyles that we aspire to travelling, fashion, beautiful homes. It is now being reported that we cannot afford to be ethical shoppers with the credit crunch but can we afford not to be? The race to the bottom' is an expression used to describe the practice of international retailers employing developing world contractors, who cut corners to keep margins down and profits up for western paymasters. We need to be ecologically aware, supporting conservation and adopting proactive attitudes towards recycling, energy saving and carbon reduction. Promoting the welfare of animals and rights of human beings to live and work in conditions of decency.

It is my belief that all retailers should all be working towards providing more assurance to the consumer that their clothes are produced cleanly, responsibly and ethically. Unfortunately, indifference, yours, mine, theirs, to the issues is very real, I am not taking the moral high ground here I am as guilty as the next person. Perhaps we should start out by having a system of labeling on clothing denoting that it has been produced responsibly enabling consumers to make more informed choices.

Skate Shoes - DC Shoes 2008 Winter Collection

DC has some great new skate shoes for the coming 2008 holiday season! I'm going to give a brief run down of the new series and let you in on which ones are my favorites and why.

The winter collection has 11 killer new shoes to chose from. Some with a more old school look and feel to them. Super Suede seems to be the material of choice. Along with light materials, bold color combinations and simple clean graphics. The collection has a number of mid- hi tops like the Mantrca 3 MID s. Overall some really cool shoes to choose from and probably has something for every skater.

Now, without hesitation here are my favorite picks from the new 2008 DC Shoes Winter Series!

GALLANT S SE This is the long awaited new signature shoe series from DC and Plan B pro Ryan Gallant. They come is a striking light blue color and feature Super Suede Plus, which is a super re enforced suede that while tough keeps a great look and feel. They of course come with a lot of the great features you would expect from DC breathable materials, foam padded collar and elastic tongue holders. I realy love these shoes for the great color and supreme grip sole.

PREMIER S This is a serious skate shoe and my favorite from this new collection. The Premier S features clean graphics, awesome colors a TPR toe guard and an innovative, shock absorption heel airbag system.
These shoes are on the cutting edge of what's on the market today.

MANTECA 3 M S These for me are all about the color and style. They have a killer retro mid hi look and come in some sick color combos such as Black and Gold and Blue and Orange. A scratch and tear resistant sticky sole, elastic tongue holders and reinforced upper makes them a fuctional skate shoe and not just a good looking one!

SMITH 2.0 SSE Check out the newest shoe series from pro skater Ryan Smith. These shoes have a sort of matte fadded suade look and come in all one solid color. Black or Dark Chocolate. Both are very nice. Like most of Dc's Shoes the Smith 2.0 SSE feature excellent cupsole construction, foam padded tongue and collar along with awesome grip and flex. If you want a smooth, classy look then these are the skate shoes for you.

Well that about wraps it up for my review of the New DC Winter line for men. I think its a great series with something to match all your skating needs.
